"VIGAN CITY FESTIVAL"

  

The Vigan City Fiesta, held annually January 25, commemorates the conversion of the patron saint, St. Paul the Apostle. The Metropolitan Cathedral, the city's principal church, and the St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur are both dedicated to St. Paul. The celebration draws thousands of tourists from all across the Philippines and internationally. Cultural shows, parades, street dancing, food fairs, arts and crafts displays, and a visiting carnival are all part of the fun. The city also celebrates the Longganisa Festival, a popular event with a longganisa-themed procession and the distinctive garlicky flavor of Vigan longganisa. The festival is a nationwide event, with both local and national leaders taking part.

Opening of Kannawidan Ylocos is an annual celebration held on February 2nd to commemorate the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines' founding anniversary. In the afternoon, crowds of both local and international visitors watched the annual Longganisa Festival Street Dancing Competition, which featured loud drumbeats, colorful costumes, and props filling Plaza Burgos during the showdown portion, as well as fascinating choreography and smiles enchanting the viewers during the street dancing. As expected, the city's famous Calle Crisologo and its surrounding restaurants were packed with people eager to enjoy the Longganisa Festival.
