"Araw Ng Kagitingan"

Today we remember Araw ng Kagitingan, also known as the Day of Valor, to pay tribute to the bravery and selflessness of the Filipino and American soldiers who fought in World War II. This day specifically honors the Fall of Bataan on April 9, 1942, when Japanese forces overtook the defenders and seized control of Bataan. During the Fall of Bataan, numerous Filipino and American soldiers courageously resisted the enemy despite being greatly outnumbered and facing harsh conditions. Following their surrender, the Soldiers endured the grueling Bataan Death March, a merciless forced march to prison camps where many suffered greatly and perished.
